Welcome! My name is Claire Fan (she/her). My practice is committed to providing a warm, genuine, collaborative and safe space for you to access the care and support you need.

I hold a Bachelor of Community Rehabilitation in Disability Studies, and a Master of Social Work (MSW) with a clinical specialization, from the University of Calgary. I am a registered social worker in good standing with Alberta College of Social Workers, and I'm authorized to provide restricted psychosocial interventions.

In addition to my professional role, I am also a wife and a mother to one child, one pre-teen and one teenager. I grew up in Asia and I am grateful to be bilingual with Mandarin (Chinese) and English. My experiences have allowed me to connect with and care for people from diverse backgrounds and I understand that navigating our various roles, relationships, responsibilities, and demands in life can sometimes be uncomfortable, overwhelming, lonely, and very exhausting. I hope to be alongside you through the obstacles you are experiencing and move towards wholeness.

I bring a variety of experiences working with children, youth, parents, caregivers (family members, foster, and kinship), and adults with needs related to stress, anxiety, depression, identity, grief and loss, self-esteem, trauma, parenting, interpersonal relationships, and various life transitions and adjustments. I use an integrated approach that is trauma-informed,

person-centred, collaborative and non-judgemental.

In my practice, I mainly draw from evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). I am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and more recently, I completed some additional training for Integrative Attachment Family Therapy, Core Emotion Focused Family Therapy (for Communities of Colour), and Expressive Arts Therapy for Traumatized Children and Adolescents.

For my professional growth and development, I regularly participate and engage in continued professional development trainings and consultations related to various topics and modalities that are helpful to enhance my practice.

At CF Liminal Space Counselling Services, I am passionate about helping my clients navigate through the complexities of life. I am confident in my abilities to provide support, guidance, and practical tools to improve my client's mental health and well-being.

Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or any other life stressors, I am here to offer a helping hand. I work collaboratively with my clients to help them gain insight, develop coping strategies, and achieve their goals. No matter what you may be facing, you don't have to face it alone.

Contact me today to schedule a free 15-min. consultation (aka a meet & greet!)
